Day 5
To Know and Be Known
Read: John 9–10
Then & ThereIn John 9, Jesus heals a man who had been blind from birth. Before the miracle, the disciples ask a familiar question:“Who sinned… that he was born blind?” (John 9:2)
They are looking for an explanation. Something to make sense of what they see.But Jesus shifts their focus. Not to blame.
Not to the past.
But to what God is about to do.
He restores the man’s sight. And yet, what unfolds next reveals something deeper. The man can now see.But many around him still cannot. The religious leaders question him, challenge him, and ultimately reject him. They are confident in what they believe.
Certain they see clearly.
But they miss what God is doing right in front of them.Meanwhile, the man who was healed doesn’t have all the answers. But he knows this:“I was blind, now I see.” (John 9:25)
Later, Jesus finds him again. And what began as physical healing becomes something more.He begins to recognize who Jesus truly is.
In John 10, Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd. And He says:“I know My sheep, and am known by My own.” (John 10:14)
This is the invitation. Not just to see.But to know… and be known.Notice About GodGod desires relationship. Not distant belief.
Not surface-level understanding.
But deep, personal knowing.Jesus knows us fully. And invites us to know Him in return. This is where clarity begins. This is where trust is formed. This is where we learn to recognize His voice.
Here & Now ReflectionSometimes we think we see clearly. But Jesus invites us into something deeper than just understanding. He invites us into relationship. To be known.
And to know Him.
Where might Jesus be inviting you to draw closer… to know Him more personally? What might it look like to grow in recognizing His voice in your everyday life?PrayerJesus, thank You that You know me fully and still invite me close.Help me grow in knowing You… not just in understanding, but in relationship.Teach me to recognize Your voice and trust Your leading.I want to walk with You as one who is known and who knows You.Amen.
