Journey to Resurrection - Week 2

Walking Toward the Cross, Holding Space for What Unfolds

There’s something about this season that invites us to slow down.
Not to rush ahead.
Not to skim past the details.
But to walk closely with Jesus.
Over the past week, we’ve been moving through the Gospel of John… taking time to notice not just what Jesus did, but who He revealed Himself to be.
We began with His invitation:
“Come and see.”
And from there, we’ve watched as people encountered Him in deeply personal ways.
A religious leader searching for understanding.
A woman at a well longing to be seen.
A crowd looking for provision.
A man receiving sight.
Friends walking through grief and waiting.
Each moment revealing something more.
Not just about Jesus…
but about what it means to walk with Him.
We’ve seen that He is not distant.
He is the Word who came near.
The One who sees and knows.
The Bread that sustains us.
The Light that reveals truth.
The Shepherd who calls us by name.
And the One we can trust—even when we don’t understand His timing.
And maybe that’s where this past week has quietly led us.
To a question.
Not just for the people in the story…
but for us:
Do we trust Him?
Not only when things make sense.
Not only when He moves the way we expect.
But even now.
As we step into this next week, the journey begins to slow down even more.
Jesus enters Jerusalem.
The crowds gather.
Voices rise.
Expectations are high.
And yet, beneath the celebration, something deeper is unfolding.
This is the beginning of Holy Week.
In these final days, we will walk with Jesus through some of His most personal and powerful moments.
We’ll sit with Him as He teaches His disciples what love truly looks like.
We’ll watch as He serves, even when He knows what is coming.
We’ll stand at the cross, where He lays down His life.
And then…
We will pause.
In the quiet of Holy Saturday.
A space that holds grief, confusion, and unanswered questions.
But the story does not end there.
Resurrection is coming.
Whether you’ve been walking through the devotional each day, or you’re just stepping into this space now…
You are invited.
There is no need to catch up or rush ahead.
Simply begin here.
This week, I encourage you to:
Slow down.
Stay present.
Notice what stands out.
And most of all…
Make space.
For Jesus to meet you…
Right where you are.
Because this journey was never just about reading the story.
It’s about encountering Him.
