Journey to Resurrection - Week 1
Come and See: Encountering Jesus in the Beginning
There is always a beginning.A moment where something shifts.Where curiosity is stirred.Where an invitation is extended.
The Gospel of John opens with a bold and beautiful declaration:“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”
God did not remain distant. He came near.As we begin this journey through John, we are not simply reading a story. We are stepping into a series of encounters.Moments where ordinary people meet Jesus…and everything begins to change.
It starts simply. With an invitation:“Come and see.”
From there, we watch as people respond in different ways.A man searching for understanding in the night.A woman at a well longing to be seen and known.A crowd drawn by provision, yet invited into something deeper.A man receiving sight… while others struggle to see what is right in front of them.Friends navigating grief, waiting, and trust.
Each encounter is personal. Each moment reveals something more about who Jesus is.He is not just a teacher. He is:The Bread of Life. The Light of the World. The Good Shepherd. The Resurrection and the Life.
But even more than that…He is present. He meets people in their questions. In their doubts. In their needs. In their longing.
And He does the same with us.This first week is not about understanding everything. It’s about noticing.Slowing down.Paying attention.Seeing what begins to unfold.
How does Jesus respond to people? What does He reveal about the heart of God?What draws your attention as you read?
Because this journey isn’t just about information. It’s about encounter. And the invitation still stands:Come and see.✨ If you’d like to begin the Journey to Resurrection devotional, you can start here:https://www.adwellingplace.co/journey-to-resurrection
