Day 1 (Copy)

The Word Who Came to Dwell

Read: John 1 & 2

Then & There
John opens his Gospel by taking us back to the very beginning.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)

Before creation, before time, Jesus already existed. He is not simply a teacher or prophet. He is the eternal Word through whom all things were made.

Then comes one of the most stunning declarations in Scripture:
“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” (John 1:14)

God did not remain distant. He came near.

As the first disciples begin to follow Jesus, He turns and asks them:
“What do you seek?”

They respond, “Where are You staying?”
In other words, where are You dwelling?

Jesus answers not with directions, but with an invitation:
“Come and see.”

They went with Him. They stayed. They began to know Him.

From the very beginning, John shows us that following Jesus begins not with full understanding, but with a simple step toward Him.
Notice About God
God draws near. He is not distant or removed. He comes close and invites us into relationship.

Jesus does not begin with demands. He begins with a question:
“What do you seek?”

And then an invitation:
“Come and see.”

God meets us in our curiosity, our questions, and our longing, and invites us to walk with Him.
Here & Now Reflection
Jesus still asks the same question today:
“What do you seek?”

What are you longing for right now?
Where do you find yourself searching for meaning, peace, or direction?

Instead of asking you to figure everything out first, Jesus simply invites you:
"Come and see."

What might it look like for you to take one small step toward Him today?
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for coming near and making Your dwelling among us. You see what I am seeking, even when I don’t fully understand it myself. Help me respond to Your invitation to come and see. Give me a willing heart to follow You today. Amen.
